Payment help

Something not right with a purchase? Work through the section that matches what you're seeing. Nine times out of ten it's sorted in a minute, and nothing here can charge you twice.

Purchases open shortly

Our payment provider, Paddle, is completing its final review of this app before real payments are switched on. That review is usually a few hours, occasionally a working day. Until it finishes, the checkout may show an error — nothing is wrong with your card and nothing has been charged.

Everything else in the app stays free and works as normal. Do check back — the Offline Pack will unlock the moment approval lands.

Help with a payment

The checkout says “Something went wrong”

Almost always this means real payments aren't switched on yet, or the page was opened from a different address than the one Paddle has approved.

  1. 1Close the checkout window and reload the app from your home screen icon or app.captainchris.com.
  2. 2Check the notice at the top of the Offline Pack page — if it says the review is in progress, payments aren't live yet and there's nothing to fix on your side.
  3. 3Make sure you're signed in before tapping Unlock offline; the purchase has to attach to your account.
  4. 4Turn off any VPN or content blocker, then try once more.
  5. 5Still stuck? Email us with the time you tried and we'll trace it.

You're testing the app before launch

The preview version of the app runs in Paddle's test mode. Real cards are refused there, and test cards are refused on the published app.

  1. 1Open the preview link (the one ending in lovable.app used for testing) — an orange test-mode banner confirms you're in the right place.
  2. 2Use the test card 4242 4242 4242 4242, any future expiry date, and CVC 123.
  3. 3Complete the checkout; you'll be returned to the Offline Pack page.
  4. 4Your purchase should show as confirmed under My purchases within a few seconds.

You paid but the Offline Pack is still locked

Payment confirmation arrives from Paddle a moment after checkout. If it's delayed or the app was closed too quickly, you can pull it in yourself.

  1. 1Wait about thirty seconds, then tap “Check again” in the My purchases panel below.
  2. 2If it's still locked, tap “Retry the unlock” — this asks Paddle directly about your email and restores anything it finds.
  3. 3Make sure you're signed in with the same email address you used at the checkout; that's what links the two.
  4. 4Check your inbox for a receipt from Paddle — if there's no receipt, the payment didn't complete and you haven't been charged.
  5. 5If the receipt exists but the unlock doesn't, email us the receipt number and we'll fix it by hand.

New phone, reinstalled app, or a lost unlock

  1. 1Sign in with the same email you bought with.
  2. 2Open Account and tap “Restore a purchase”.
  3. 3Go back to the Offline Pack page and tap “Download for offline” while on Wi-Fi.

The offline download won't finish

  1. 1Do it on Wi-Fi with the screen awake — it's a large download.
  2. 2Open the app from the home screen icon rather than inside a browser tab; offline storage only works there.
  3. 3If the bar stalls, tap Remove and then Download for offline again.
  4. 4On iPhone, check Settings > Safari that Advanced > Website Data isn't being cleared on exit.
